Facelift

What is a Facelift?

The visible signs of ageing occur for a number of reasons: heredity, gravity, environmental conditions such as sunlight, as well as stress. Facelift is a surgical procedure to rejuvenate the face and help give you a more youthful-looking appearance for longer. It may be combined with other procedures such as neck lift, eyelid surgery, brow lift, facial lipofilling and earlobe reduction to help you look years younger.

How is the surgery performed?

Surgery takes from six hours and is usually performed under general anaesthetic. In select cases a mini facelift can be performed under local anaesthesia. One night in hospital is recommended. Recovery takes two to three weeks, but bruising and swelling may persist a little longer.

How do I know if I am a good candidate?

The best candidates are non-smokers or vapers, as nicotine use increases the risk for complications. Being fit and healthy for your age and having your medical illnesses very well controlled is recommended before undergoing surgery.

What are the estimated fees?

  • Facelift +/- R160 000 - R190 000
  • Facelift plus Neck lift +/- R220 000 - R240 000
  • Mini Facelift under local anaesthesia +/- R60 000

Rhinoplasty

What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is a surgical procedure to help enhance both the appearance and the function of the nose.

What can I expect?

Open Rhinoplasty is my preferred approach as it leaves a hard-to-spot scar and allows me the ideal view of the nose structures so I can offer optimal correction. Rhinoplasty aims to correct functional breathing problems and improve facial harmony and in turn help improve your self-esteem.

How is the surgery performed?

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. Surgery takes four hours and a one night hospital stay is required. A nasal splint is usually required for one to two weeks.

Ear Moulding & Otoplasty

What is infant ear moulding?

In the first six weeks after birth, ear cartilage is very soft and malleable which allows treatment of ear deformities such as prominent ears, lop ear (the edge of the ear folds down), cup ear and Stahl’s ear. Ear shaping is a non-invasive, non-painful alternative to surgery and makes use of the EarWell external ear conformer, allowing pain-free reshaping of your baby’s ears.

What can I expect for my baby?

An ear-shaped silicone mould is attached to the ear and encourages your baby’s ear to grow into a normal shape. No anaesthesia is required, and the procedure is painless and performed in my rooms. Usually three applications are needed, two weeks apart, to achieve the best results.

Treatment is best begun in the first or second week after birth while the cartilage is soft, and lasts for six weeks.

Who is a good candidate?

Newborn babies respond well to ear moulding, while late treatment after six weeks of age is disappointing.

What are the estimated costs?

  • One ear per application +/- R5000
  • Both ears per application +/- R8000

What is Otoplasty and Macrotia surgery?

We all have little imperfections that may cause us slight embarrassment. Otoplasty is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of prominent ears. Children with significantly prominent ears may become self-conscious and this may lead to lasting psychosocial stress. Otoplasty surgery gives you less conspicuous ears and can therefore have a positive effect on self-esteem and confidence. Macrotia surgery reduces overly large ears to improve facial harmony and balance.

How is the surgery performed?

Otoplasty takes two to three hours and is performed under general anaesthesia. Macrotia surgery takes one to two hours can be performed under local anaesthesia. Recovery takes two weeks. Surgery can be performed from before school-going age.

What are the estimated costs?

  • Otoplasty +/- R85 000 - R95 000
  • Macrotia surgery +/- R40 000 - R50 000

Eyelid Surgery

What is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is the surgical procedure to enhance and rejuvenate the appearance of the eyelids. Especially when hanging excessive upper eyelid skin or lower eyelid bags become noticable and troubling.

What can I expect?

Blepharoplasty is a very popular procedure which is commonly performed under local anaesthesia with or without sedation. The procedure takes from 45-60 minutes per eyelid under local anaesthetic and recovery takes about two weeks.

Both the upper and lower eyelids can be improved depending on your specific needs. Blepharoplasty can be combined with other surgical procedures such as a brow lift, face lift, neck lift or with lipofilling of the face, and with non-surgical treatments for an overall rejuvenated appearance.

Am I a good candidate?

The best candidates for surgery are non-smokers/vapers who are free from medical illnesses or eye speicifc diseases such as dry eyes.

What are the estimated costs?

  • Upper blepharoplasty +/- R30 000 - R40 000
  • Lower blepharoplasty +/- R35 000 - R45 000
  • Upper and Lower blpeharoplasty +/- R70 000 - R80 000

Neck Lift

What is a Neck lift?

A neck lift is a surgical procedure that improves the contour of the neck and jawline by addressing loose skin, excess fat, and underlying muscle laxity. Ageing, genetics, and weight changes can lead to the development of neck bands, skin laxity, and a loss of definition along the jawline. A neck lift aims to restore a smoother, more defined neck profile while maintaining a natural appearance.

How is the surgery performed?

Surgery takes approximately three hours and is performed under general anaesthetic. One night in hospital is recommended. Recovery takes two to three weeks, but bruising and swelling may persist a little longer.

Am I a good candidate?

What are the estimated fees?

  • Neck lift +/- R95 000 - R105 000
